Climatic tests


Heat, cold, humidity, humid heat, thermal shock, rapid temperature variation and salt spray; These ENVIRONMENTAL conditions encountered on earth are simulated using the test facilities available to the NTL. It is a question of simulating the same conditions, in order to measure the reaction of materials such as :

  • Mechanical deformation ;
  • Modification of the characteristics of electronic components ;
  • Modification of solid properties (cracking of materials, hardening, etc.) ;
  • The impact of oxidation or corrosion phenomena ;
  • The swelling of certain materials ;
  • Changes in thermal and electrical insulation characteristics.

    •      Wet heat (T_max= +180°C, T_min= 10°C )
    •      Cyclic wet heat ((T_max= +180°C, T_min= - 65°C)
    •      Cold (T_max= +180°C, T_min= - 70°C)
    •      Dry heat (T_max= +180°C, T_min= 10°C )
    •      Temperature variation (T_max= +180°C, T_min= - 70°C)
    •      Thermal shock (Hot Chamber: +50°C to 220°C, Cold Chamber: -50°C to +70° C)
    •      Salt spray (T_max = 50°C, P_max = 2.5 bars, NaCl concentration = 5%)
